Dump truck catches wires, tips over | Daily Sentinel – Rome Sentinel

MARSHALL — A dump truck crash remains under investigation after the driver forgot to lower the dump box on the back of the truck Wednesday and pulled down several utility wires.

Oneida County Sheriff’s deputies said the dump truck from the Town of Marshall Highway Department had just left a job site and was eastbound on West Hill Road shortly after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Deputies said the driver — whose identity was not released — forgot to lower the dump box on the back of the truck and it caught on multiple telephone and utility wires.

Catching the wires also caused the dump truck to tip over onto its side, authorities stated.

No one was injured in the crash. The area of West Hill Road was closed for several hours so that crews could fix the utility lines and lift the fallen truck. Authorities said the crash remains under investigation.
