Three-vehicle crash involving dump truck claims man’s life in rural Saginaw County – MLive.com

BLUMFIELD TWP, MI — Police are investigating a three-vehicle crash that resulted in one man’s death in rural Saginaw County.

About 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept 29, Saginaw County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash site at the intersection of Vassar and North Gera roads in Blumfield Township.

Deputies determined a red dump truck driven by a 26-year-old Saginaw man had been heading north on Gera when it stopped for a stop sign. Stopped behind the dump truck was a Cadillac SUV driven by a 67-year-old Saginaw man.

Also traveling north behind both vehicles was a white pickup truck, which collided with the SUV. The SUV then crashed into the dump truck in front of it, deputies said.

The pickup truck, deemed the at-fault vehicle by deputies, flipped end-over-end and also collided with the back of the dump truck. The pickup’s driver died in the crash, deputies said.

Deputies have not yet been able to identify the deceased man due to his injuries but said he may be from Ohio.

Additional details were not immediately available.
