WOODBRIDGE, NJ – A flipped dump truck on the Woodbridge-Rahway border Wednesday morning caused several injuries and prompted a response from multiple hazardous materials teams, officials said.
Just before 8 a.m., a dump truck was reportedly overturned near the intersection of Route 1 and Randolph Avenue, the Union County Hazmat team said in a statement. Crews from the Woodbridge, Rahway and Avenel fire departments, as well as the Union County Hazmat and Middlesex County Hazmat teams, worked to contain leaks from the dump truck and provide care to multiple patients injured in the incident.
It was not immediately clear how many individuals were injured in the incident.

Members from both Middlesex County and Union County Hazmat teams also conducted a saddle tank pump-off and assisted crews in the clean-up effort, officials said.
“Great work by all agencies on scene working together efficiently to complete all tasks,” the Avenel Fire Department said in a statement. “And a huge thank you to our brothers and sisters in blue from both the Woodbridge and Rahway Police Departments for keeping us safe while on scene directing traffic around us while we operated.”
