Two people were fatally injured Wednesday when a passenger vehicle and a dump truck collided on Highway 17 at Doran Road.

The crash happened at about 7:20 a.m.

A person who was riding in the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, the Ontario Provincial Police said in a release. Renfrew County paramedics took the driver of the passenger vehicle to hospital, where they later died.

The driver of the dump truck was not injured.

The Ministry of the Environment was called in to help with a fuel spill.

Local detours were in place as an OPP collision reconstructionist and technical collision investigator helped with the investigation, the OPP said.
